Policies may not explicitly cover every scenario, HR should ideally provide more flexibility for genuine cases. My suggestion is to document your case thoroughly, explaining your needs and how WFH can help maintain productivity. Approach HR formally with a polite yet firm email requesting clarity on policies and potential exceptions, especially for sensitive situations like maternity or medical conditions. If you don’t get a response, escalate the matter to the HR head or your supervisor with proper evidence.

You gotta write a strong mail for this. They will not just hand it to you, even it is in their policy. Put the screenshot of the policy, get the doctors recommendation every possible paper work you have to support your claim.
You are dealing with insensitive Robots.

My cousin was on bench after ML, she got 1 year WFH. It depends on your negotiation with HR and RMG.

Policy is same for everyone. Don't worry they can't do anything. Ask them to send this on email and highlight where it's written on policy. No need to go to office if you are following policies.

Ask them which project will hire when they know u will go on maternity leave in few months. These RMG folks are just some junior idiots who don't get project for long time and are asked to do RMG work. And then they start thinking they are invincible. Bloody shitheads who have audacity to talk to seniors and tell them about policies.

Don't worry, drop email to your RMG head and convey your concerns. They should ideally guide you.

Took mail approval from reporting HR and then show it to RMG they are dumb and mentally challenged people

Just show them that policy and tell them that they haven't mentioned regarding that we need to be in project for this.
