Trending @Capgemini; I have been on bench for almost a year!

I have joined Capgemini in the beginning of 2023, I completed my training and courses and was allotted a project for which I failed my first interview so I was to remain on bench.

I didn’t get any other calls and have been sitting free for almost a year. I have been receiving monthly salary and additional bonuses too.

Nobody seemed to be interested in knowing why I’m not working. How long will this bench period not affect me? My role is SAP consultant. What should I do and do I need to be concerned about getting laid off ?

And nobody say they are jealous of me!

We didn't get any project calls from staffing partners (worst resource management in Capgemini I would say), I saw my colleagues in FS BU when we were on bench , they applied for multiplex projects through JobFEED , they were not getting any response from just applying there on jobFeed portal so they started pinging (and even mailing them with resume and interest showing)the PSP handler or concerned person mentioned in the job on jobFeed , they appeared for multiple interviews even cracked them. But some were like they want only experienced people ,some were like we can't transfer from FS to NA BU , for A5 grade the transfer in BU they said not possible.
So they put them in PIP , mostly people cleared , one of my friends left because of PIP and one tried reaching out to friends in other accounts for projects , I also got the project same way .

Some of my friends are still on bench it'ld be 2 years in September for them , and they got out of the second PIP that is BOTP. So yeah It's not good to expect anything from this company, so setup. Timeline , try all the way reaching out to people from your side and take outside application as your priority I would suggest.

Same case with me but the thing is how am I supposed to apply for other companies when I haven't done anything here or got barely any hands on experience.... On what basis will they hire me... They will need someone who will know how to work for real projects and not someone who just completed 2 years in a company being on bench and doing online courses... I am stucked here

Any suggestions or company referral would be a great help

Joining letter arrived 6 months late and then I was on bench for a good 3 months when I joined 2 years back.

I'd say find something inside in the next 2 months or leave

yes, cg might ask you to leave within 2-3 months if you still don't get projects. so try better outside or get some project soon
