Trending @Wipro; I have asked my manager to release me from project
I have asked my manager to release me from support project, I have work here from June 2025. It is supporting project. Plus there is no shift allowance as well. And technology used in project is dead already. I'm planning to switch in March April. But because of this project's hectic hrs I'm unable to study. So today I finally told my manager to release me. But he's saying that I can't release you directly or have to put you in PIP so that you can get release. What are the consequences of being in PIP? Will company terminate me?

It's absolutely bullshit that a project cannot release you. If you feel the technology you are involved in, is not relevant to you, you can absolutely raise the concern and ask for release. If your manager is not releasing you, tell him that you will check with HR regarding policy. Because there is no way that you have to be in PIP to get released. He is just covering his own a** so his manager does not question him on why he chose a candidate who wants to leave early. Take it to HR and keep the entire communication in email.

Yeah your point is valid. But in meeting like smtg bench connect or NGA connect. In which they have said if you have received working project and now you are aaking to leave it. You won't be tagged to any working project from our side if you ask for release. And so on. The person who conducted meeting was so hyper on everyone because so many epl were asking for release.

Don't take risk of PIP. Wait for 18 months to be eligible for rotation. Rest I can guarantee they will not release you.. depends on managers but its rare that they think about resource.

Yeah. But they are not giving me Any other task. Only monitoring, raise incident tickets etc. No technical work they are assigning.
