I got a mail from HR that in july 23rd i had marked wfh but i was actually in sick leave and forgot to mark the same, also it was mentioned as a compliance issue in the mail. what will happen now?

It happens in case you applied your leave a bit late before that notification was triggered.

Better raise a ticket and mention that you have applied leave. In the case of leave it should be marked as leave why it was not marked like that
