I got 20% raise in last cycle. Is it good for a software engineer?

Average is 50% everywhere else and around 69% in startups

20% is definitely good especially when there are a lot of companies out there which are not providing any hike at all or even worse capping the salaries of employees.

You guys are still lucky, due to the US recession and future outlook our appraisals were kept on hold. So its been 1.5 years with no raise. On top of that Learning allowance, health allowance, mobile, internet claims also stopped. Net net in-hand salary is negative.
