I feel very bad about Swiggy and Zomato delivery guys
Mostly on weekends you find the number of delivery boys from Swiggy and Zomato on the roads and towards their delivery destinations. I really feel bad seeing them how they are struggling in this unusual traffic, roads, and to meet their stipulated time. They collect and deliver to the doorstep whether it is bad weather or hot temperature. We read many incidents happening with these poor fellows on their duties, even some road accidents. We ppl are sitting at home in the comfort zone and getting the food in hand without any hiccups. I am really keen to understand the pain the delivery boys are going through...are they happy doing so?

Itโs because this is how food delivery and other delivery startups earn profit and sustain in the market. India must have rules to protect the gig workers and provide them with minimum wages so that they donโt need chase the many orders in less time.
We can appreciate that heir effort of delivering stuff on time, tip them if bulk order and extreme weather conditions, show some humility.

I feel too, I don't think so they are happy but they are doing it for their livelihood.

Don't you think they are risking their life just for livelihood?

I donโt think they have any other option available. Few of them might be studying a few hours to prove their life, but mostly these people have family responsibilities and hence have to drive in this scorching heat and bad roads. It just breaks my heart when we order a 300-500 rupee order like it doesnโt matter which is their whole dayโs earning

It's because of no minimum wage rule in India. They need to deliver more to earn more else negligible earning at the end.
I used to give a little tip earlier but nowadays every platform charges obnoxious to even consider extra.
This info is based on my study.

Yes, Platforms are getting richer and the front employees are poorer.

+1... Of all horrible businesses, this is the worst. Are they happy? NO body does this job out of passion. There companies are making money on Indian population and poverty.
If there is one business i wish to see them fail, it would be this.

Oh ๐ฌ
If anyone care about gig workers(better pay)and also wants food delivery apps(commission amount) to be profitable then customer needs to pay the high price for convenience, otherwise can go for dining/self pick up at nearby hotels.

I too feel really bad by looking at people who are doing extreme hardwork and doing odd jobs to provide food to their families ๐
