I feel dumb and unworthy🙂

My parents spent 15 lakhs for my btech and here I'm landing in a 4lpa job. I have been trying to switch after 2yoe but no use. I havn't really got a single call from any recruiter... I feel dumb and unworthy.

most of us started like this only, this is what happens with 90% engineers in india, cause only 10% gets tier 1 colleagues so its quite normal i would say, keep gaining skills along with the job, make switches in each 2-3 years and in 6-8 years with 2-3 switches you should be earning 12-16 lpa, then same get married, have kids, raise them, and die - pretty boring it is i know 💀

15 lakhs?!
Even at the top private college in India , BITS Pilani undergrad won't cost that much. The way you called it btech you're clearly from some third tier EAMCET type college. Which means you are a donation seat. You should have just done long term and tried harder

Your last sentence and post title are 100% justified and true.

May I know which college and city please, I did my engineering in Chennai spent around 6l (no donations) was regretting for like 3 years, later got promoted and was able to earn more than what I paid for my engineering, so do not worry but why you didn’t feel dumb and unworthy to pay 15l for BTech.

With 10 years of experience, I've grown significantly - from starting at 4.75 LPA in 2015 to now earning over 45 LPA. Switching companies every 2 years really paid off! 😊

It’s okay, I started the same way. It wasn’t even 4, it was 3.36 but I never stopped trying. I tried to upskill myself and joined a cloud provider and got 2x salary. By gods grace, I switched for every 1-2 years and have almost 10x salary now. You will get your chance. It’s alright to feel dumb, I felt it too. That’s not the problem. Problem is if you want to just stay like that. So stop over thinking and start preparing!!

You may be from good private college like christ , and there are not many finance jobs . Only few finance jobs pay high like investment banking etc..
