I am screwed up
I'm 23.
From a tier-3 city.
No family house been living on rent since birth.
No fancy degree btech in cs from tier 3rd college, no
elite network.
Just raw hustle and hunger.
Right now, I'm working as an Associate Product Manager at an Al-led startup.
Before this, I spent 1 year at another early-stage company started as an intern, went full-time.
But I left because I was severely underpaid, despite giving it my all.
I joined this new company thinking it would be different.
Yes, the product is interesting.
Yes, the vision is exciting.
But lately, I've started wondering:
Is this really for me?
Am I even built for corporate?
Because honestly:
I get calls at 7 or 8 in the evening saying "this needs to be done by 12 ΑΜ."
Sometimes I'm asked to work on Saturdays, even Sunday without notice.
There's pressure, but no clarity. Deadlines, but no direction.
I'm told to come to the office 3 times a week, even when it kills my productivity.
I don't feel like I'm growing - just executing and checking boxes.
And worst of all, I don't know if anyone even sees it.
I feel... stuck.
Not because I don't like working.
I love building things. I love solving problems.
But I want meaning, not just motion.
The one thing I've always loved - is teaching.
Since Class 8, I've been explaining things to others.
Helping people understand colleagues. whether it's students or
That's where I feel most alive.
I feel stuck I don't know what to do can anyone please help me my mental health is so fucked up Right now, I have joined few cohorts thinking it will change and help me become a great pm but I don't know is the problem in me as everyone else in enjoying but why not me
I can't change the job as parents are old, I am single child I am fucked up
For ourselves. And for those who come after us.

Bro, everybody life is fucked up in their own way. No matter what the conditions are you have to sand up for yourself. In life good things and bad things can happen. You should never stop ur journey until ur end. If you feel stuck go somewhere that you want to and spent time with ur family or loved ones. If you don't like your job try for other jobs that you are really interested in. Just do the battle no matter what the result is. Try to think about how can you solve the problem in real life too.
You have drained same like me. First of all did you know what you want in your life. If yes, do that. If no, try to know what you want and what you want to become but don't forget that is that work wise bringing happiness to you or not. The reason that why you are not enjoying is you are always staying up and hitting the keyboard and you don't know deep inside why am i doing these things. Your heart is telling that give me rest to your brain but your brain is always solving the problems. But when you look back everybody is enjoying why not I am. Because you also really want to enjoy with some friends.
My advice is spend time 1hr with only urself everyday and learn new things (I meant not studying but getting new things to know outside or inside) spend sometime with your friends and family and study for sometime only 2hrs or 3hrs. Try applying for new jobs and if you fail you better learn more and learn from your mistakes. No matter what good or bad happens you remain calm and don't let things control you, you better control the things.
Bro, i studied too much and got into depression but later I realised it didn't help but make me worse. Now, I just study 1 or 2hrs and do my work then I will have conversation with my friends and YouTube and sleep. I put resignation without any offer in my hand I don't even know what should I have to do now. But I want to move on and see where my life takes me now.but this decision took me 2 years to do it. Now I am aware that it is very difficult situation to handle and no money in hand. I hope i want to concentrate on things which I can resolve than to concentrate on a problem.
Pro tip: Life will be unfair to everyone but you need to make your life happy no matter what the situation is. If we are born poor that not our mistake but if we die poor then it is our mistake.
Not here to motivate you but rather stating facts. If you like it take this as conversation as like a brother if you don't then my apologies to you my bro.
Take a chill pill bro, everything will be alright.
Thank you

Thanks a lot thank you so much i am also planning to resign what should I do

Do whatever you want whether right or wrong. If it is wrong learn from it, if it is right just go with the flow. But you make sure mentally, physically and emotionally strong. If you are then no one can stop you bro. Try to play with your cards right but if you don't have get new ones and start again but dont stop no matter what.
Hi @SpiritedGossip37, firstly i want to state that both @ImmenseAscot and @MrBluntIsBack has given great suggestions some of which I strongly recommend you to do.
Now here's my short version of action steps for u: In a post u have mentioned everything but your income. You u know the number #1 reason why we tolerate depression, work pressure? Anyhow hereythe algorithm for you:
If(salary_productManager > 20 LPA):
print('Shut the fuck up, take your mom dad to restaurant once in a while, invest in SIP, after 15 years u will have in hand amount, but a house with low interest rate. Marry, live, raise kids differently than your parents, die. Period')
Else if (salary > 16 LPA && salary < 20 LPA): Print('sit down with your parents, tell them your situation, tell them if u learn a good Skills like data structures, SDE, u can earn 24 LPA but for that u will need them to support u for 3-6 months, depending on their answer proceed')
Else if (salary>10 LPA And salary <16 LPA): Print ('Abe chutiye, your company is under paying u, act like you are working but make extend your work with excuses like this has that roadblock, I will pivot back tomorrow morning, etc. Learn to be linient, during working hours open youtube, search high paying IT jobs and their skill requirement, search for those skills u will get almost everything for free if u r willing to learn. Learn for 3 months, create a fake resume for that role, apply for interviews, practice questions before hand, that is if u written a project, assume u r interviewer what questions will he ask like how big was your team, which language u used and what was client requirement, prepare thoroughly in mind like u lived it actually, have full 100% confidence in your time and face expression, and if by chance asks something u don't know like which ETL pipeline u implemented, just say since our team was vertical in alignment the data engineers and scientists handled those tasks, my main focus was on --- back to your practiced essay.')
Else: print ('bsdk, like is hard for the person who lost his parents and is 15 years old on his own working polishing shoes and earning for himself and his brother, so stop complaining, start being shameless, delete that ego, think u r nothing and noone cares what u do, now go out there, with your btech degree what u learned, revise it, start a small tution board outside of your room, and building with a small poster for everyone to see. Market well, 100% resuts improvement or your tution fee is back - Certificate professional experience product manager from ___ company, topper in 12th class 96%, now take it to insta market there, use your friends, unknown friends on FB. If u hesitate to do this while u r in this ELSE block, i have one thing to say stop complaining, wake up and go back to work')
Bro, just so u know my intention is not harsh in anyway, but the life indeed is harsh to everyone, we have to accept it and do what we can NOW, not tomorrow. NOW..

Welcome to adulthood
You have one of the biggest asset in your favor... i.e. Time Work on your skills... Switch and join MNC. Withon 3 to 4 years you can be ahead of everyone

College degree is meaningless after 3 years, worthless after 5.
If we don't like the house owners behaviour, dobwe go around trying to adjust ourselves around him/her?. Same way, don't like the company? change. Changing jobs is difficult now, agreed what choice do we have? Untill we find one , even if pay is lesser, we can surely find one. 2-8 yrs of exp is the golden period for job change.
Don't take too much ownership. Employees should behave like employees not as owners.
