Trending @Infosys; I am assigned to training after rejection?

Recently I was mapped to a project after 2-3 days I connected to manager about the opportunity that client is considering my profile after some days I got a mail stating rejection in client interview ( interview never happened) and I was assigned to training till dec 24. I asked about same to manager he says ignore the mail your profile is still under consideration.

I am worried what's going on background. Training was mapped but nothing is going on.

What should I do, is there anything I should ask from manager or anyone faced same. What's your thoughts & experience.

Really not understanding what's wrong with that, if someone is lateral, just assign him to a project , what is this stupidity about so many interview after interview

Interview is by the client, does not matter lateral or not.

For lateral joiners it can happen, as you are allocated till dec 24 then there might be cases where it is a new project and there might be some pending action from the client or vendor side which might delay the project onboarding process. I'm in the same situation too but I'm not confirmed with a project and I joined 3 months before, every month they provide some random project code allocation. But regularly follow up with your manager for updates on your project onboarding.
