I am 29 F and have 7 years of exp in the IT industry. It has been my dream to be in civil services since childhood..Is it late to start now?

IT is much better than IAS job, in India people have glamorized the babu culture that's all (if your dream is to help people you can do that through any profession)

You don't become a babu to help people. This is like going to a restaurant to wash utensils.
The babu culture has not been glamorized enough. It is the way of life in India. How many people know - its impossible to fire a babu? The worst punishment that can be given is either transfer or put on reserve? Both the cases, the gvmt takes care of everything. - Salary, housing, assistants, school education for kids , everything under the sun.
One person from the family becoming a babu is enough to settle generations. Not jus the immediate ones, but every friends, family and neighbours.
Iam unable to digest this statement that "IT is much better than IAS". How is IT better? - because one can solve the problem of delivering cola in 10 mins? or join WITCH companies and be on bench or work on project of maintaining legacy systems?

There is no point in discussing a topic with somone who has zero knowledge of IAS as well as IT

List out 3 reasons why it's your dream. None of that "i like serving people" bs. You don't need to be a civil servant for that

I am also planning the same, let's connect.

Can you please do 5 why analysis on your motivation before jumping?
Use ai to help you analyze, ask it to be critical

Your age can be a good deciding factor , give yourself at least 3 attempts if you want to do justice to you and UPSC. First attempt you should target for building foundation and target at least prelims.
Just ask this to yourself and all the best!
