Hybrid Hustle vs. Stable Setup: Which Wins?

Comparing two job offers, need your thoughts!

Option 1: HCL - Hybrid (12 days WFO in Noida, ~18 days WFH from Bengaluru/home). Pros: WFH flexibility. Cons: Monthly travel, different WFO location.

Option 2: Product-based company (Bengaluru) - 5 days WFO for 6 months, then hybrid/rotational. Pros: Location stability. Cons: Less initial flexibility.

Long-term career & work-life balance: Hybrid with travel vs. full WFO with stability? Insights from similar situations, please!

Thanks for the inputs. To add more context: I currently stay in Bengaluru with family. Option 1 (HCL): 29 LPA, hybrid model — ~12 days/month office (Noida) and remaining WFH. Travel and stay would be out-of-pocket initially with reimbursement later. Option 2 (Odessa – product-based): 23 LPA, Bengaluru location, full WFO for the first 6 months, hybrid later. I’ve asked if they can match closer to 29 LPA and shared the offer letter for evaluation. Trying to weigh compensation vs long-term sustainability, travel fatigue, WFH flexibility, and family commitments. Would appreciate perspectives from folks who’ve made similar trade-offs.

Thanks for the questions, that’s helpful. I currently stay in Bengaluru with family. Monthly travel to Noida is possible, but it does involve added cost, fatigue, and logistics. Accommodation for those ~12 days is not company-provided, so that expense is on me. That’s exactly why I’m trying to evaluate whether the hybrid flexibility (18 days WFH) outweighs the travel + temporary stay effort, versus a full WFO Bengaluru product company where there’s no travel but less flexibility initially. Trying to balance long-term sustainability, costs, and work-life balance, not just role/title. Appreciate insights from anyone who has handled monthly cross-city hybrid setups.

For option 1: Where do you live rn? Will it be possible for you to travel every month to Noida? Will you get accomodation for only 12 days per month in Noida? Will travelling cause fatigue? How much will you spend in travelling? These are the questions you should ask yourself.

For option 2: Take into account the living costs associated with living in Bangalore.

Also it would have been helpful if you'd have mentioned the comp.
