Trending @Accenture; HRA trouble, request help

Friends, I am facing a challenge regarding my HRA submission for last fiscal. The amount I had submitted was more than what I actually pay to my landlord to save a few thousands in tax. Now that amount has reflected in the other income form of the landlord with the company name and he is asking me to get it corrected with the company. I offered him that I will pay him the excess tax amount and that there will be no discrepancy from current years onwards but he is adamant. I am scared to go back to the company and admit that I had submitted false HRA amount and need a correction. It will be an ethics compliance issue and repercussions can be bad for me. Please advice
