Trending @Accenture; HR rejected my medical issue WFH exception
HR was extremely rude while rejecting the exception. She said things like, Everyone is going through the same issues, not just you. You stay at home, won’t you go out? This is very silly and so many insensitive things.
I asked for three to four days to make arrangements, but she responded harshly, saying, ‘Why didn’t you make arrangements earlier? We’ve been informing you about this for so long. What have you been doing?’ She was completely unempathetic, unprofessional and disrespectful. I wouldn’t have minded if she had rejected me in a normal, professional manner, but the way she spoke was unacceptable.
HR is also just an employee, earning a salary like everyone else. So why do they act as if they are the ones paying us? Entitled attitude!!!!!

Same here , actually engineers should develop something that takes off this Hr completely, especially this Accenture HR have roo much attitude

True, I don't understand what makes them so entitled. I really want to give a feedback against him, but I don't know how or where. Does Accenture have a feedback system? Nothing. Accenture is doing nothing. Instead, they're not even giving promotions, hikes. Work life has become terrible here. I've been with Accenture for 2.5 yrs and I really don't want to stay anymore

Tag Julie sweet to take bitter action on the HR

Same way we should think .. wat the pressure they are holding 😎

Oh, come on. No one is saying they have to approve it, but they should at least reject it in a professional manner. Everyone has their own struggles and everyone is going through something. The least they can do is be kind and reject the exception more smoothly. There’s no need to be insensitive, rude or lacking in empathy. There are many ways to handle it better and soft-spoken skills are very important, especially for HR, where they matter even more

Accenture called people back to the office. The same Accenture also provided a tool for emergencies and if you open the app, you’ll see a note saying something like, try to talk to the employee and be empathetic, and if the issue is genuine, approve it. So yeah, it depends

Ask them to provide rejection reason on the mail and you can reply saying that HR has rejected my exception by saying that "everyone is going through it and you need to get out sometimes" then escalate it to the HR manager and then to the ethics department

They are all one

How is this harsh or unprofessional -"Why didn’t you make arrangements earlier? We’ve been informing you about this for so long. What have you been doing?". They have started informing since September to come to base location and they had told in advance for RTO from Feb, it is not like they said come from tomorrow. Now imagine the kind of arguments you would be putting in and then see how to respond in better way.

So, do you want me to include every single line from our 30 minute conversation? And do you even know that I have never been to the office before? Do you know about my medical condition? I don’t want to put everything here and make it obvious that this is about him. FYI, going to the office is not new for me, I have been going to the office on and off for the last two years. If you want to know the whole story, drop your team’s ID here, I’d be happy to share all the insensitive things you consider sensitive :)

How is saying 'everyone is going through it’ not insensitive? How come asking, If you stay at home, will your problem go away? is not insensitive? How is not giving a chance to share my side of the story considered sensitive? How is saying ‘I have this, I have that. Am I not going to the office? Are you special? If something happens, you can go to the hospitals here’ considered sensitive? I don’t want to mention further details here. If this seems sensible to you and you think I’m arguing with him, then you need to process things differently. Sorry

We do all the work and generate revenue for the company and these HRs are behaving like they're boss, they are nothing. We engineers should first bring AI to automate these HR's work and kick off them.

Escalate it
