HR asking CIBIL score?
I got a call from HR today, While gathering my data she asked my CIBIL score, i asked how is it relevant to job, she said they don’t entertain people with less than 550 CIBIL score,
is it normal?

ask her how much she weighs
I have heard of people's credit rating being checked as part of background checks in other countries, but this is the first time I'm hearing of this in India. Maybe this trend is catching on in India too.
The logic is that if a person is irresponsible in something as important as paying off their loans, debts, bills etc. in their personal life, then they'll probably be irresponsible at their job too.
I'm not saying that this logic is valid, but I'm just explaining where this is coming from 🤷♂️

Not sure how common it is, but in my previous organization (Bajaj Finserv), they did check the CIBIL score.
maybe HR is doing moonlighting with HDFC😅

Is this company Society Generale because they asked me the same question? 😂

The only logic I find in this question - it's a way to determine how disciplined the employee is financially
If he/she can't be good with handling OWN money/loans/credit-card, that shows how irresponsible the employee can be with respect to work as well.
Irresponsible in one word.

Maybe they are going to give you a loan with the lowest ROI 😆😆
