How useful would a free platform be that connects farmers directly with buyers and logistics partners (without middlemen or payment cuts)?
Hi everyone,
I’ve been working on a side project called AgriConnect — a mobile-first platform that helps farmers list their crops, buyers discover verified producers, and logistics partners offer transport — all in one place.
It’s not a startup, and I’m not monetizing it. I’m just building this out of passion during weekends and evenings to solve a problem I care about.
The idea is simple:
🌾 Farmers can list/manage crops and documents
🧑💼 Buyers can search and directly contact farmers
🚛 Logistics partners can offer their services
💬 Real-time chat + phone dial (in progress)
🔐 No middlemen, no commissions, no control over money flow — just connection
I’m also integrating:
AI-powered crop matching (based on type, location, need)
Phone call logging (with user permission)
Buyer credibility & farm product assurance policies
🧠 What I’d love feedback on:
Would this kind of open, commission-free model be adopted in rural/agri markets?
What kind of trust-building or dispute policies should I focus on?
Do you know existing platforms solving this? What’s missing in them?
Any blockers that might stop farmers or buyers from using this?
Would love your thoughts — this is a learning project for me and feedback from real users or domain experts would be golden 🙏
Thanks!

There is one app kissanconnect that works in Pune side it's similar to idea you are giving

Yes, I’ve looked into that app, but it functions more like a fixed-price selling platform — similar to Zepto — where the company controls pricing and transactions.
What I’m building is closer to an OLX-style model: no pricing control, no payment handling by the platform. It simply connects farmers, buyers, and logistics providers — letting them communicate and transact directly without any interference.

Yes , they can be anyone bulk orderers, shop owner, normal buyer who are ready to invest for logistics expense, community people just anybody.

Just to be clear, here buyer is basically consumers right. people like you and me?
