How to work in TCS

Upto you if you wish to learn the hard way of read this post and act accordingly. I have spent 2+ yrs with TCS as a senior manager and I have realised nothing going to work in your favour in this company. My CTC is 32lpa but I expect much more than I am getting. Sick politics, sick policies, low increment and long hrs of work. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH AND THEN I DECIDED

  • TCS will not throw u out unless ur unethical, hence do things correctly as per policy
  • Officially they cannot make you work for than shift hours, if they do, reach HR.
  • Get peace of mind, work as needed and look elsewhere, keep applying for jobs
  • Stay low till you have a job offer.
  • Enjoy with family and if the project releases you, so be it. Don't worry
  • You will already get a B band for sure and if your manager is not happy, you get a C, a difference of 1-3%
  • we are already getting a low increment, what worse can happen.
  • Target to leave the company before next Appraisal

Make sense !!!

Experienced the same things during my tenure. So, at last decided to resign and currently serving the notice period. Whether you do more or less work, regardless of that tcs will reward you with B or C band. In worst scenario, if you go against management, you will get D.

Absolutely, it makes no sense to break our heads thinking about tcs. Let's focus on what we will do being in TCS and focus on another job rather than sweating about this rotten ecosystem of tcs

But why none of such concerns are being addressed by wise people working at top level in tcs??

Trust me, going onsite is a big trap. Think twice before agreeing to it. The payment is not good in TCS and getting a job outside TCS is not that easy now in any European nation

Is that so? But many people join tcs mainly for onsite, isn’t it?? And for job pay being low, does it hold true for US also?

My manager has involved me with more rhan 3 projects. I had requested him multiple times to add another consultant as I alone handle but still he only says you arrange and give KT to someone who even don't know basic of that technology.. indirectly he threats me if I can't handle everything then with discussion with his manager and leaders he will put in bench and throw out Of TCS .. can you tell if out of 4 projects I handle 3 projects properly and last one I asked to add another one fir help then knowingly they will put in bench and can they force me to resign??

They can't do anything to you until and unless you give them reasons to do so. Keep everything documented for the safer side from your end even for conducting the KT sessions. Keep your Manager/s in loop while giving KT so that you can showcase your efforts.
