Im currently a Data Analyst (2 yrs exp). Want to move to Data Scientist role. What skills shud I focus on? Any certifications that help? How to build portfolio? Thx in advance!

Focus on ML algorithms and stats. Andrew Ng's coursera courses are great start
Build kaggle portfolio. Participate in competitions, showcase your skills
Depends on type of DS role. Research focused? Focus on DL, CV etc. Business focused? Learn product sense, a/b testing etc
Learn SQL inside out. Still most imp skill for any data role
Get comfortable with cloud platforms. AWS/Azure certs can help
