How to switch the project and what will be the process for that.
You can change an internal project after 18 months, a client project after 24 months, you can send an email to your manager stating that you need a release from this project to pursue a new role, he can ask you to find a new project until then you can stay in the current project or he can release you and send you to free pool that totally depends upon your manager. After getting into free pool you can find a project on your own from ijp portal or project managers will contact you if they find your profile feasible.
This is the first time I'm planning to switch projects, and since I've never done this before, I'm concerned about whether I'll find a new project and how long it might take. Although I've consistently received 4 and 5-star ratings in my current project, there's not much work left, which is why I want to move on.
Currently many people are on bench, so I won't suggest a release directly try to find a project from ijp then ask your manager for a release.
