How to switch projects before getting into bench

I'm P1 with a 0.8 months LTImindtree experience. Our client requirement is reduced so my teammates are moved to the bench but Before that I need to switch projects (development projects) internal Job portal and viva engage doesn't really work. So can I ping the managers for asking availability of projects randomly or what should I do? I know a project based on my interest but I don't know whether the project has requirements or not. can I straight away ping them?
