How to start freelancing?
I am working as a Senior Software Engineer with 3+ years of experience. I want to start freelancing but I have no idea how to pick up clients. I tried upwork with no success. Even tried to bid low so I get my first freelancing project. But, it didn't work out. I am currently working on MERN Stack.

As someone who has worked with freelancers for my business needs, I would want to have a look at some of the projects they have executed. I would prefer to see projects executed in a personal capacity rather than what you have done in an organisation. You can read forums and communities to identify projects you can build on your own and showcase it in a portfolio website. Once that's ready, you can only then hope to get some projects. Once a basic profile is up, you can then try in the online websites to start initially. Lot of work comes mostly via reference so you need to do a lot of cold calls initially to get your first work
