How to start career in ESG ?
Joined big 4 recently, after MBA, thought would land-up in strategy roles but placed in functional ERP role, Considering fresher with 0 tool knowledge in SAP, post mba along with 3.5 yrs of exp in amazon this is a fresh start for me. So thinking to move towards ESG as this motivates me a lot to work, how is this space, to move lateral in same org need 1.5 yrs mandarory exp in same firm, Want to apply with same package outside but i know would get less benefits with what i have now, but atleast would start working on ESG field and grow from here.
How is this industry in India, would like to know more thoughts

i dont think so, its a very niche and imp dept eventually every company needs to report on this for sure. finance, strategy operations will again linked to ESG goals
I do BRSR and Integrated Report for listed cos. Let me tell you this, no real investor is interested in ESG. ESG doesn't add any value. ESG should be hygiene and not something as premium.
Makes no sense to specialize in ESG, rather hone your regular consulting chops and just stay knowledgeable about it. As rightfully pointed out its mostly all hogwash for investor sentiments and stakeholders, not really a premium that pays
Bro am working in the same field from last three years. Believe me no one care about it in india. Compensation are also low.
