How to start a cybersecurity career without any CyberSec experience?

I am a Software Engineer with nearly 6.5 years of experience, who has worked in domains such as RPA, some ETL and Blockchain.

Currently I am working on the intersection of Blockchain and AI security, involving IAM and Accountability layer for AI agents.

Hence, I wanted to know, would it be difficult to pivot now to CyberSec even with the necessary certifications?

If it is possible, what would be the earning potential for someone who has 7 years of non cyberSec experience in the Software Industry?

Your experience is not what you did before, but what you claim to have done before.

Remember you don't have to fool everyone , every time. You just have to fool one, ,one time.

I could very much help you with the learning process but job wise I'm still searching for one but if you can internally move in your organisation just the process I'll explain is enough

I am working in an 8 person Blockchain startup, so there is no chance of moving internally to Cybersec. However, I can probably utilise the knowledge I can learn from CyberSec certifications to solve any security issues related to our code code or cloud.

Would really appreciate your help in sharing the learning path

It would be a stable transition if you start looking for roles in it advisory, grc (governance risk and compliance) etc.

Being in a cyber assurance role, I always miss the technical edge that a software developer has , especially the kind of experience you have .

In your case , you can try for platform security roles.I think you would have a great asset with the kind of experience you have.

Thanks for sharing! Just to confirm GRC is pure non tech right?

Also in terms to transition, what would be the earning potential. Currently I earn 23 LPA, but is there chances of transition happening in the same salary also, given I do some certifications related CyberSec?
