Trending @Accenture; How to Resign and get roll off from project ?

I am currently in a Project which is at its planning and design phase. I am getting the KT. What is the process to resign if I don’t want to work in this project in notice period and to get on bench !

I tried for the same , when my project was in end stage , I resigned and then asked for project release since I wanted early release but they didn't gave , instead they made me work for new project on my entire notice period

Can you suggest , How to deal with this scenario? I had a word with my people lead he told don’t tell your project manager about your resignation and continue to do my work
