Medium has really great articles covering software engineering.
But 5$ a month seems very expensive, is there any way through which I can read all the articles (including member only) unlimited times and that too free?

"$5 seems very expensive" Seriously. You are earning over 1 Lakh a month. You might be spending a lot on leisure activities. Medium subscription comes out to be roughly 400 Rs a month. How will you feel if your customers try to find freebies of your product? How will your company pay you? If you find value and you can pay, please pay for the services. This is the reason why we are infamous in other countries as misers. How will saving 400 Rs help you? You are missing on learning new stuff which can help you upgrade your skills and increase your salary. If you can pay 1000s over a drink on a weekend and you cannot justify a learning subscription, I feel sorry for you my friend.

Block third party cookies for [*.]medium.com in chrome. Working like a charm for years now.
When you open Medium without logging in, you can read 3 free articles. They keep track of this by storing cookies. If you disable the cookies, they can't keep track of this and hence you can view the articles.
Dude, those people put real efforts to write blogs/articles. For the God sake, buy a subscription if those articles help you.
