How to negotiate a Salary in Hr discussion

Actually my current CTC is 6 lakhs fixed in Accenture (7.3) & I have 12 LPA fixed pay offer in my hand. I got selected to to EY. hr is mentioning that we can offer 13 fixed + 2.6 vp

However I am looking for 14 lpa fixed + vp. Hr is simply saying that is not possible even though I try to convince them to reach 14. I started with 16 lpa fixed and then 15.5, 15. Hr is like no we can't. Finally I ask for 14 fixed....then also the same answer is not possible What should I do in this case. I need to inform them by tomorrow whether am I interested or not

Tell them you don’t want to switch for so low and will look for better opportunities as you are confident of your skills.

Take the offer letter from EY and keep looking for new opportunities as well and negotiate with them with the EY offer. Once an offer letter is released, it's very unlikely that they will let you go. Once you get your desired offer in hand, you can renegotiate with EY as you already have a higher offer letter. Ask them to match it.

How to do this correctly, whatif the hr puts the offer on hold?

What ever being offered is more only. Understand your experience skills..

Bro I have team leading experience, architecture design experience, Gen AI/LLMoPs experience

Though there are many people doing of this skill where they will go .. you will be assigned perticular responsiblity and you have to execute on it .. people with ten 12years exp have all these exp but getting paid low. Understand the market n risk while shifting.

Try for joining bonus or something to compensate that extra 1 lakh

I asked that as well, but hr is saying that, now the rules are changed and we can't provide you the joining bonus

Better to accept the offer if you don't have any better one. Partner will anyway adjust the variable pay if your fixed pay is more than the normal scale generally. So, it doesn't matter to negotiate the fixed pay much.

Tell them the offered CTC is not aligning with your expectations and reject the offer. Most probably, they will get back to you in 1-2 weeks that please join, we are ready.
But remember they will get back to you after 1 week only.

Also, in EY you will work day and night as there is no concept of work life balance in EY, so considering the hell situation in EY, ask for more. Atleast you will be happy by the end of each month.

You can not say 100% that they will get back. They can offer to other guys as well.As market is crowded now. They already offering 13 la fix he is asking 14.If they want to give 1 lac is not a big issue for EY.May be budget issue.

EY HR is working within a fixed salary band, which is why they aren’t moving beyond 13 fixed + 2.6 VP. Negotiation won’t change that ceiling. At this point, the decision is strategic — if you value a higher fixed component, stay with your 12 LPA offer or explore other options. If you see long-term growth, brand, and role fit with EY, accept their structure. Chasing 14 fixed when HR has clearly closed the door is not practical. Evaluate beyond numbers and decide.

You better accept for now...HR will say so many rules to not give you more. But after 1-2 years u will have great scope to move among Big4 once you are into any Big4. Think of long term aspect instead of current situation for 1-2 lakh
