
How to identify toxic patterns (toxic company /manager) during interviews

Look how that manager speaks. If it is a woman who smiles too much or speaks abnormally supportive/politely, run. The man who walks and talks around like he is a military man, run faster. If the manager says strategic, long term, growth; multiple times in a span, you are being hired to improve his resume. There is no active role for now. If they discuss one particular topic/subject, want to know your experience in any certain area and keep their focus on that, you are a replacement. Suddenly ask them that and enquire why that person left, if they blabber/evade, run.
If the HR use words like learning and growth opportunity more than once, the job is a parking spot. If they call the job a skill/knowledge role - its most likely clerical.
