Trending @Accenture; How to Handle Notice Period with Upcoming Visa and Travel Deadlines?

I’m currently preparing to go to the United States for my master’s program. My visa interview is scheduled for January 2nd, and if it is approved, I will need to travel by January 20th. The challenge is that my current role requires a 90-day notice period, which doesn’t align with my expected timeline. Given this situation, I’m unsure whether HR would be willing to reduce the notice period. I’m also considering whether I should discuss this upfront with my manager and HR, submit my resignation now, and then withdraw it if my visa is not approved. I’d really appreciate your suggestions on how to handle this and what the best next steps might be.

If you have the acceptance letter from the university you can submit that and it is considered as valid reasons to reduce the notice period

Should I resign now and negotiate the notice period till and take the resignation back if visa is not approved or resign only after the visa is approved and negotiate the notice period for less than 2 weeks .
Will the hr/manager accepts notice period less than 2 weeks if I have visa and the flight tickets booked.
