How to get release or switch?

As a fresher joined TCS, gonna complete 1 year in few months. I got into a project from where I'm Unable to get release. Working on oldest technology (Mainframe). I am very confused now as I never wanted my career in Mainframe or in any old technology. It's very difficult for me to manage in this project with working on Mainframe. Not sure what should do or how to switch. As heard that must work in an organisation for 2 or 2+ years to get recognised in other organisations. But it's very difficult to work in this technology and after fighting so many times, couldn't get the release as I'm a fresher and trainee so manager have many options which he is using very bad way.
