How to get release from project

I have asked my IS to release me from the account as I was not happy with the band. Just got 14k hike with C band. The very next day I approached my IS telling the same. He asked for 6 months wait period. Does it required that much time for him? Again it is waste of time going forward with new project to myself in remaining 6 months. That affects my rating/band/hike again. What would be your suggestion to get release as early as possible? Pls comment folks. Happyme
