How to get release from current project?
How can I get release from my current project. I joined tcs 2 yr back but now want to change my project.
First you must have genuine reason, other wise they'll just ignore you. Reasons like you want to work in some technology which you already know, but there is no availability in ur existing project. Dont say I want to work in data science without knowing anything in data science. You have to show them proof like you might have done some certification in a technology or have prior experience, so you can say that "I am really interested in this tech/domain & want to pivoty career in that direction".
Good TLs and managers understand and probably give you release or tell you to wait till some date. Then you keep reminding them regularly till release. The key is to be professional and reasonable.
If your manger is a a**?#le, you go full on Gandhiji mode "Non-cooperative movement". Try to do as little yet viable work as possible. Say no to everything ur manager says😅, just be the pain in the ass for manger in a subtle way. This can go very very wrong, so try at ur own risk. But this has worked in my case beautifully.
I first asked them professionally, they didn't agree. Then tried the hard way, got released in 2 months 😅
