How to get release from a project?
In TCS, if a manager is not giving a release, what should I do to get released from the project?
Let me tell you of a colleague who was in the same situation.
First up this is heavily project dependent but in most cases one who wants the release is screwed.
Colleague was an excellent performent and one day she asked for release. Then things took a dark turn.
Managers not manager its Managers plural ganged up to ruin her work as much as possible. Directed alot of tickets her way. Made her work extra hours. The whole toxic environment.
You might think HR would have helped but hell naw, they colluded with the managers and brought it to the managers attention this person raised a complaint. So they all together screwed with her along with senior managers highlighting she is incapable and is using excuses for her sloppy work.
After all that she was released and the HR plus managers made sure she got a C band thereby cutting her digital incentive and ensured she didnt get a good project in the unit.
She finally dropped her paper and left but during her BGC the HR made some bad remarks about her. Luckily the new company did not believe it and ignored the comments.
In my tenure in TCS most of the cases 90% those asking for release are never released and lives have been made miserable. The remaining 10% had to fight but the fight was political and brutal. Basically finding managers enemy or an HR who has a grudge with the manager then using that grudge to get out.
It aint easy nor worth it. If you are done just drop papers and leave. But if you wanna fight be my guest but just ensure your wrists are wrapped and you got your boxing gloves ready. It is a mess.
