How to get over the feeling of being left out
So I have been working at a cyber sec firm for quite some time now. Being a part of the platform team, I see my team doing all the heavy lifting. We get all of the high value features and our team is always on the forefront of things. However being a part of the team I still feel a bit left out. It probably stems from the fact that there is some maintenance work that nobody else does in the team and is done just by me. It's a long store as to why it's just me doing it. But none of the other developers in my team touch that kind of work. And although my growth has been in line with the peers in my team, I feel like doing the dirty laundry makes me feel left out of discussions and general meetings. I don't mind doing that stuff though as long as I get paid fairly, and I also keep nibbling into dev work as well and have shipped out a lot of features myself. I'm introverted and like to keep a low profile but this left out feeling just makes me feel a bit lonely.

Everyone has to do a bit of dirty laundry once in a while. Just make sure you not doing it all the time. Speak up in calls.

I don't get why people want to get "recognised" and "included" everywhere possible these days.
You like your work and are getting paid well, why do you want to change that?
Make friends outside work, your colleagues are not your friends and are rarely reliable enough to be called friends.
