Trending @Accenture; How to get out of project where the role is not aligned with the Skill set I carry?

I am L8 and P4+ in Functional role however due to lack of opportunities for L8 in last year November I get into a techno functional role. It has been 6 months since then but due to complex nature of the product it’s becoming difficult for me to work on the allocated task? Any suggestion how can I get a release and take role in functional area where I am already an expert. It’s also worth to mention that project environment is extremely toxic
