How to get more women on dating apps?

Don't you think women in maximum cases would have a boyfriend if they have actively looked for a partner? Single women around me are usually only single by choice as they've clocked out of dating. The ones who did eventually end up getting together with someone through dating apps were there for just the sake of it, someone just stood out, they liked him and they ended up together. It wasn't intentional.
And even if they are single, they might look around in colleges and workplaces or other nearby places due to a greater level of trust and safety.
I've assumed they are actually looking to date and not just validation since that is effectively the pool you are looking at.

Some women do cry about not finding men, most probably because of high expectations
Also, if the women who are single by choice, decide to go off the choice, men aren't lined up outside the house. She'll still need to go through the process of finding someone, closing probably sooner on her case
Right. So even when the woman does go through the work, wouldn't she prefer going the offline route?
This business by nature is highly skewed, even considering much safer countries for women. It only increases in India. This makes it an incredible business, as long as the skewness persists just give men a glimmer of hope here and there and they'll stick around and buy the subscriptions as well.
Point being what ratio do you think is optimal?
I believe the core problem is trust. If you can solve for this problem you can attract more women. However, saying this based on my gut feeling. You might want to do a survey or conduct user interviews of a gender and then segment them based on demographics. That would give you a better answer.
Now to answer how to solve for trust
- Enhanced security verification- may be adhaar or pan based
- Video calls before actual meetings
- Clear reporting mechanism for harassments. Note you can’t be judge here. You may block users or deplatform them.
- Frictions before users exchange numbers ( can have negative impact as well)
- Community moderation
- Genuine profiles no catfishing
