How to get considered for ai/ tech roles in Canada from India
Hmm for a person with just a bachelors degree and 3-4 yrs ai/ml domain experience how can one get a foot in the door/ to interview stages for Canadian firms directly from India. Also has it become difficult to be considered for canada roles in big tech due to opex related cuts?

But why canada?

Hmm depreciating ruppee🥲.
No visible returns on taxes.
Competitive industry and lower number of advanced ai/ml roles.
Cannot forsee a long term growth path in India.
Can forsee that captial gains tax will further rise in India, living in canada for a while and getting canadian PR might make future dubai opportunities way easier.
I don’t know just kind I see better opportunities. I know doing a masters and then looking for a role might be better since a lot of employer in canada look for “ canadian experience “ but don’t know if without getting a huge loan and stuff it works then what’s the issue. Also once you get canadian pr and citizenship can open easier long term future us employment pathways through Nafta backed visas.
I mean the limitations on indian citizen during immigration/ long term work is kinda on the strictest and hardest side. O1 in the us is kinda great but it only works mostly for entrepreneurs etc.
I have friends who are singaporean who get direct us roles and h-1b1(not to be confused with h1b, this one is another us visa type for countries which have special treaties with us like chile and singapore) and meanwhile direct h1b folks if any get the 100k stuff to deal with.

For international hiring, employee referrals from your friends already working in Canada, for positions at their employer companies, would generally work the best
