Trending @Accenture; How to get an instant roll off from a project?

So I was on bench and a manager pinged me on Thursday for a solution architect role for sales. I told him that I will think about it and will let him know as it was different from my skills. I didn’t want to tell him no directly so I just ignored it.

I wake today on Monday morning and see hard lock email from his project. I replied them and asked them roll off citing the reason it was not aligned with my skills but they were not responding so I had to become very aggressive and told them If they don’t release me by EOD today I will escalate it to top management i.e. Julie. I already added two leadership people in the thread and voila they rolled off me instantly in the afternoon itself.

Although their PMO replied that when resources are available on bench they can lock them and later their project MD also connected with me and advised me to not unnecessarily escalate things. He advised me it would have also settled by sending some simple emails or arranging calls with them! 😅

But that’s me.. on bench somebody is trying to schedule a client interview and such project comes in middle and disrupt everything so we have to start over. I would not have got this result if I was not aggressive.
