First he posted saying 'We ban PIPs from now on' and people started celebrating. Only folks who understand him a bit more knew something like this was coming next

Why not leave? Why put bread on the table for your family, earning from an institution you hate?
Genuine question.

Been trying for close to a year, on my way out soon. Sometimes it's not that simple

It’s actually not harsh.
If you’ve managed in any capacity, you know PIP doesn’t work. It’s just delaying the decision. It hardly ever fixes performance. And if you’re putting someone on PIP, you’ve already made up your mind.
Pretty sure some rando will still reply with “asli ID se aa” crap, so I’ll tell you that I have nothing to do with Unacademy and don’t like a lot of what they do. But here he’s right.

If you like anything about what Unacademy is today (not what it was) then you know nothing about what Unacademy is today.

Can you elaborate a bit on what Unacademy is today?

when Hiring for entry level SDE was done at peak pay, this was bound to happen. Smart people will think twice to join such companies. Companies to attract talent will offer bigger pay than the last time and circle repeats....

Mereko toh paise bhi nhi dete

kitna milta

Why is he concentrated only on removing people from the org. Jab dekho tab isi pe discuss karta hai.
Pura EdTech ka maa behen kar rakha hai isne

It's a sheer overconfidence, God knows on what... Each of their projects are shutting down every other day yet see the audacity of these guys lol

So PIP is a must. Can’t simply uproot someone’s life like that.
Notice period is a fairly redundant thing, because anyways employees don’t work in the notice period as we are busy with the job search. Meanwhile the organisation is counting on their deliverables (whatever little they may be). So may have a KT for 5 working days. Provide a severance that’s in the employment contract and that could be a fair win-win for both parties.

Well no wonder they haven’t been able to close their HR positions easily

It could be a good move if it also came with a direct exit on resignation. Why should employees waste their time on a non-performing company?
