How to deal with an obsessive partner

my partner is a smart person, good pedigree but last few years has left all that and is not just doing stock markets. extremely obsessed about markets and making returns and enjoys that too

taking out time for friends and family feels an effort

other things are great in the relationship except this and my parents are not okay with someone who doesn't have a steady job.

Tell them it's not working out due to those reasons. Tell them your priorities, and what they can modify in their life for you, and what adjustments you can make for them. Then just move on with your life. This is obviously affecting you enough to post it here.
