How to Crack strategy / consulting / growth role as a PhD from IIMs?

Heya,

I am PhD from one of the new IIMs, with 3rd Rank in my batch. Now for PhD scholars from IIMs /IITs, the journey is pretty carved with publish papers (which is super difficult), complete your thesis (difficult) get your degree, and jump to academic jobs.

I want to do is different - want to try in corporate (don't find a calling for teaching yet)

I am really interested in strategy, energy, consulting space and have some internship and live project experience with management consulting firm..

The problem - I am a fresher with a PhD (MBA coursework included in phd)

I have applied to more than 50+ companies and hardly get a call. I have made the resume inline with my MBA folks still it's the interview calls are dry..

What do you folks suggest?
