How to crack a role at Google? Why is it so difficult?

I am from an IIT with a Design degree. I tried my best changing my approach 3 different times spending 6 months each but I have failed miserably. Please suggest the idea which helped you or someone who you know.

Maybe they're assuming that u are from IIT and will demand salary which is not in their budget or they might get someone more skilled than u or someone who did classes which are close to hiring person

Mid company means? My prime motive is to get an opportunity to work with lesser constraints in terms of budget and resources, secondly it is the highest paying company for designers.
