Trending @HCL; How to change the base location as a fresher?
Hi, I am a 2025 graduate and I have joined HCL as GET, 1 month ago and right now undergoing training, my training location is chennai and I think my base location is also chennai. I am in USSA account and I think most of its projects are based in chennai, hyderabad, banglore, I want to go to Noida.Do I need to change the account for this and if yes what is the process and how to convince them to change it and will they change it, If I talk to my RM what if he denies, what are my options then. I have got 4 project calls till now out of which 3 were support and 1 was okayish role but I denied joining them because I want noida location and they are not ok with it. Also I don’t have any contact with my HR Partner, I don’t know who is the person I’m assigned to or how to contact them. My training is of 3 months and will end in September mid. Please suggest and help me in this it would be a great help. Thank You!
My suggestion is to join at your assigned location and complete your training. Join the project from the same location if you don’t get the desired location. Once you are stable in your project then try to convince your RM or try to change the project having desired location.
But the account I'm in I don't think is having the projects at my desired location so I have to shift to a different account itself, also can you explain what I can consider as getting stable in a project, in HCL we can't change projects before 1.5 years so even if I want to do it say after 3 months then it would be impossible
If you are at any new vista location then forget about getting a transfer to another location. But if your project has an odc in your preferred location then you can report from there as well (given you inform your manager about it).
