How to become an airline pilot in India

Basically I am experimenting with my life this year going through a bunch of transition plans.

And the plan F that I came up with was that I would love to try to become a pilot. Coz I fly a lot due to work and stuff and would like to get my hands on the wheels once. (Especially as most programs have under 30 age limits for folks who want to train to become one)

I came across the air india cadet program: https://cadetpilot.airindia.com and had some doubts from larger community.

Questions:

  1. What is the pilot role like and overall airline industry experience both india and abroad.

  2. how is the life like once you are a pilot( working hours, job satisfaction, monies, living cost etc.)

  3. are there any other programs/ course besides this in india? Are there any upfront costs if so. Also how does one apply for more international programs if any. Also joining this program does it mean I cannot leave air india for a while?

Also, a lot of people don’t want to go into it professionally, and they just get a Private Pilot’s License and fly small single-engine planes (e.g. Cessna 172) as a hobby.

Analogous to how you can learn to drive a car personally, and drive it for fun, without wanting to go work as a driver for a taxi service.

Would be odd to say that I also want to experience how it looks professionally . Kind of like up in the air experience, Christmas in Zurich, new year in new york and Diwali in bombay how life looks travelling around the globe?
