How to avoid giving out an expected ctc initially ?

So a recruiter has reached out via mail and want me to share my details along with the expected ctc.

The thing is the average salary for the role on glassdoor seems to be higher than what I was expecting.

I don't want to give out a number now and get low balled later or quote too high a number.

Anyone been in a similar situation? Would appreciate suggestions
