How to ask for raise to match your teammates?
Hello. Please let me know if this is not right group/channel to ask this question.
I am working equally compared to my teammates. And we both are from tier-1 college (not same college though)
I am getting 12 lakhs and he is getting 15. In coming appraisal(Feb end). I want to clearly state that, I should receive what he is getting.
But issue is I can't directly say this right. How should I handle the situation?
That's why you never discuss salary (jk)
If your teammate is currently earning 15, he is definitely going to get an appraisal on that ctc.
Maybe you should check what Glassdoor says about salaries at your company, or find out about salaries for your role/level. Take that figure as reference, and speak to your manager/HR during the appraisal, bring up scenarios/reasons from projects about why you deserve it etc.
Do not bring your teammate into it. Show them figures from other sources, and back it up with your reasons.
