How to approach this phase

Apologies for the long post. Context settings is very much needed, I believe.

I haven't been very ambitious about my IT career, but at the same time always tried to contribute to the best of my abilities.

Total 17 YOE with about 3 years of UPSC preparation in between. I have worked with one of the WITCH companies for 15 years before moving to TCS.

Now for the last two years in TCS I feel like I haven't tried to get mapped to a role matching my abilities. Have been doing the same scrum master role which I used to do 5-6 years back. The reason mostly has been that I don't want a role too demanding, i guess.

Got opportunities for client partner role in middle East, but flatly denied owing to family constraints.

Aim is to secure decent savings and early retirement, if/when possible.

The question that keeps haunting me, if this is the right thing to do? Or shall I put more efforts to progress my career.
