How to answer “What is your Expected Salary”?
Hi All, I am writing this post just for sake of knowledge. Currently I am working in Oracle with 3.8 YOE as QA.
During interview calls, the most difficult question i feel to answer is “What is your expected salary?” Sometimes i ask for 100% and in some cases a self doubt arises that whether this much asking is correct or not.
So guys please feel free to suggest how you do research like is there any specific website where we can know the market value of the position and answer this question to your interviewer.😊

I am assuming you must have done. The research to have an idea about the bracket. Simply tell them you are expecting as per the company standard bracket that should justify the role and level of dedication it asks for. And highlight how you have proven yourself to be worthy of the same by clearing all level of interviews. If at all they compare you with your previous company pay, then highlight how the present company is superior than the present or ex hence your expectations are upto their standard. If it was a startup u worked earlier, bonus! Tell them working in a startup you had a matrix experience of working dynamically in different domains and you are sure this will help you bring unique learning to the new team.
Helped me bag 150% hike than my past job which was a startup.

Recruiter hears the same words you wrote 50 times a day. Most of them will still ask you to quote a number.

So we quote the expected number, therefore I mentioned "you must have done the research" and rest is simply the backing pointers

Never give the answer.
