How Some People Survive in Tech by Lying
Look at the Slack message this person doesn’t even know how to write a proper commit message, and he’s an onshore full-stack developer with over 4 years of experience. He’s also done his master’s from a US university. I don’t want to demean anyone, but I’m just expressing my frustration because he’s senior to me and has been working with us for the past 5 months. I have to explain everything to him from scratch. He doesn’t even know basic commands, how to use Postman to test REST APIs, how to use MongoDB Compass, or even basic Docker concepts. I’ve already informed management about this, and they’ve been saying, We’re looking into it, for the past month. On top of that, he seems to have hired (or maybe just brought in) another person part-time I’m not sure if that person is officially hired or just a friend. Every time we’re on a call, he’s on Zoom with that person, who tells him what to say and what questions to ask. I just hate how some people easily fool management or pass interviews with others help, yet lack professionalism, honesty, and work ethics.
