How should i resign?

I'm planning to resign on Friday on my weekly 1:1 with my manager. I have a 1:1 with my director, which is on Wednesday should I say something to my director? I feel like is not his job, once I tell my manager he'll get the news shortly but feel weird to have the meeting with him like nothing and quit the next day. Also, is it fine to tell my manager about my resignation verbally and after that send the letter?

Best to make it formal. Tell your manager, drop a mail and then tell your director

If you are planning to resign on Friday, you should tell your manager on Wednesday. It is not necessary to tell your director, as your manager will shortly get the news. You can tell your manager about your resignation verbally and after that send the letter.
