How realistic is it to survive a PIP at Amazon India?
Is it easy to come back from a PIP there or you'll be booted to meet their quota usually?

Whatever i have heard, its tough. But its not necessary that everyone will be in pip.

Most people won't be in PIP. But how hard is it to get out, if you're in PIP?

The universal rule says that if you are in Amazon’s pip, your time has come. People usually starts searching outside.
Blind will give you an better idea. Post this question there once.

So the way it works at Amazon is you’re put on a dev plan for 4-6 weeks with goals on what you gotta meet to get out of dev plan.
Incase you don’t, then you got 2 options - either resign & leave or go into pivot.
Pivot is discussion where you & your manager get to present your performance to a panel of 3 people who decide (vote) if your performance is uoto the mark to be taken out of dev plan. If you survive, you get the option of moving to a different team, else you get into dev plan - 2.
Note - if you fail dev plan - 2, you’re fired & never rejoin Amazon & without any severance pay.
If you exit without getting into pivot - you get severance pay basis your tenure.
You gotta make sure that the goals in your dev plan are rational & achievable.

Being in PIP is like being a goat stuck on a small island with a lion. You might survive for a few days, few months even; but sooner or later you are going to get eaten.
Say goodbye to that back loaded stock promises

Most people dont come out of PIP. You need to clearly demonstrate meeting expectations, which is hard, especially for people who were under performing. Amazon Managers have to meet quota - so they might or might not be invested in coaching you.
My suggestion: Take severance when pivot is offered

PIP is a finer way to not give you 3 months salary that they will have to give you when fired + PR stunt to save face
