How much savings do you have, all in? (I have shared mine at the end of the rant)

I’m not looking for big numbers. I’m looking for small numbers. If you have a big number, share that too. But don’t be smug about it.

In a world where everyone is lying about their 5 crore and 10 crore net worth. Most of us have just 2 or 3 lacs.

Specially influencers (finance ones) have made this culture 10-20 times worse. Literally all YT videos start with “5 crore in savings, how this guy made it in one year” It’s shameful how easy they make it sound.

The real guilt and shame is transferred to the viewers who feel inadequate and bad after seeing these numbers.

I’ll share my number: It’s between 3 and 5 lacs and that’s the honest truth

I'm actually demotivated after reading all the comments. I've been working for 2.3 yrs and I paid my education loan of 4.5 lakhs + given around 2 lakhs at home as my father won't return any debt he took. My grandfather, my mother and me are arranging money by taking loan and paying his debts. So as of now I don't have any savings and my in-hand salary is about 35k But I have saved in SIPs and I have around 2L in SIPs. Am I in in a good position? Am I lagging behind?

Don't compare yourself with others bro. You have your own situations which others never stepped in. Keep progressing and enjoy your own journey. There will always be someone who earns more than you and similarly many will be there who earn much less than you. Keep striving for more but don't compare with others.

Don’t get demotivated and don’t be harsh on yourself please. You are doing excellent and better than many who might have not even started to take savings seriously. Just take baby steps, make short goals, long term goals and work towards achieving them, while enjoying life in parallel.
